AMOLED TV Development Status & Competitiveness Analysis

AMOLED has been fully employed in the small and medium-sized market since 2009, due to the rapid increase of the smartphone market since Samsung SDI (now SDI) started the mass production in 2007. On the other hand, In the large AMOLED panel market represented by TV, Sony released an 11" TV in 2008, and LG Electronics released a 15" AMOLED TV in 2009, however, they were below 0.1% in terms of market share. In the meantime, AMOLED is drawing attention from the market again as Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics exhibited 55" AMOLED TVs respectively at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held in January 2012.
