Contrary to everyone’s expectation, Samsung Electronics decided to spin off LCD business team last February, and launched Samsung Display on April 1. Until now, the majority of the industry was weighing on when Samsung Mobile Display (hereinafter ‘SMD’) would be merged with Samsung Electronics.
